Culture exchange, maybe?

Instead of spending my OFF DAY from school at home resting and munching away on unhealthy snacks, I woke up earlier than I normally would for school to go to "work". My job for that one day is to bring a small group of Japanese high school students around Singapore, and "assist" them when they need to pay for stuff, or to buy train tickets even.

The whole thing is pretty new to me, since I've never done this before. The group of students allocated to me were all girls, which was a relief because at least I can bring them to shop for "girl" stuff...If my were a guy group, I think I would be very confused on where to bring them to...Oh by the way, they are 17 year olds... final year in high school back in Japan.. haha not much of an age gap right?!

The 5 girls! <3
Followed the itinerary given and brought them to Orchard ION, Cineleisure, Far East Plaza and Suntec City...They were basically just shopping and spending money, since it was their last day in Singapore. Took alot of photos and did alot of twisting, which was sooooo much fun hahaha. (Judge la judge la!)

^^v
I feel very bad and lousy because I could not converse in Japanese (AT ALL) and they could barely speak english as well. So we're doing alot of sign language and using my phone to translate certain stuff... Lol. And their pronouncation for english stuff is a little different from what we are used to. For example, Mac we will pronounce it as "MACK" right? They pronounce Mac as "MARK" which was really confusing and took me really long to figure out what they were talking about.

After a good long 10 minutes, I finally understood that they wanted to eat "MACDONALDS" oh man... hahaha.... Took almost a good 15minutes to decide and order what they wanted... they also explained that they have Macdonalds in Japan too.. but instead of giving curry sauce for nuggets, they have BBQ sauce..(they really like the curry sauce)

Well apparantly I kind of realised that they all do not have to tie up their hair... even in school lol... Dang, I didn't know until I sort of asked them about it. Quite good right?!

Brought them to Suntec's fountain of wealth to garner some luck with the fountain lol...

Only had a couple of hours out and about so we went to as many places where time allows us... We also bought the same hairbands, but of different colours. Hahahaha So kawaii~

Finally when we are back at the hotel and all the students are assembling at the main area, they all took out something they bought while shopping and gave it to me saying thank you! Oh man, I feel so touched and.. touched. ~_~ To be honest, it was really nice of them to do so... and we had a group hug too. LOL so cute... Really like them a lot and it's sad that they are leaving so soon! But it is what it is! Took some photos before they go assemble! :(
They asked me to be in front.. lol despite being tallest.
PEACE SIGN!
Last picture of all 5 of them!
The experience was very memorable. It's like you just dive into a group of people you can't even communicate to.. Oh man, To be honest I thought I looked pretty stupid because whichever english phrase or sentence I say, they will look at me and will go ????? ._. LOL... But they are very nice and patient with me, and they were so sweet to even buy me gifts in appreciation after the whole thing, I'm missing them already even though its a short while :( Hope to see you all soon girls!! :)

Went over to Nuffnang afterso to sign some papers prior to the trip to Genting...Met the other bloggers there and they are all very sweet and pretty :) Can't wait for monday! I will be hush about the details until much later!!! I'm pretty sure the rest of the bloggers are keeping it a secret too!

Went to meet up with my besties after that at Clarke Quay to have dinner and hang out.

Denise made Churros for me and Edwiana... It's already soggy when we ate it, but I STILL LOVE IT. THANK YOU DENISE. (Spam love spam love)

made with love

Yeah, they are camwhoring with my camera...
I cannot believe us, we're like camwhores of the universe. It's not like we're at some fancy restaurant or whatsoever, but we just HAVE TO take photos wherever we go, even when I'm just sitting on half of my ass... nevermind, DIE ALSO MUST TAKE PHOTO.

A lame shot.. but whatever..

Denise epic long hands
Caught up with both of them a little and just had to order so much food that we can barely finish up... We're horrible people...but nevetheless, we let out our inner beast and ate all of it up.. haha...thats why I love them!

To end off the LONG AND TIRING DAY, here's me.
Self shot owns all. NIGHT! <3
