Dong Dong Chang

I remember the days back when everywhere it's just noise and more noise. The times when every single shop that has just open its doors, graced by a Lion or Dragon dance troupe and dance to welcome luck in. But as the generations passed, things started to fade, our culture began to succumb to the fact that,people think that it's not as cool as it used to be anymore.

The general public usually associate ahbengs or uneducated people to being part of the dragon and lion dance troupe. Really meh? I feel that regardless of what education level you are at, no specific interest group is made up of one type of people. You think everyone who is pet groomer is kind hearted meh!? (Just an analogy)


But whatever it is, in the future if I happen to open any shop in any part of the world, I will definately engage in a "dong dong chang" service! So that I can be lucky lucky! ^^

Speaking of Dong Dong Chang, I went to my Uncle's Dragon and Lion dance dinner. Its a 10 COURSE MEAL okay! Really eat until super full! Every year there will be a dinner of about 35 tables or more and it will be filled with people from many different organizations. There will be a bidding section whereby people can bid for what they want, the items usually standard one! Alchohol or decorating stuff ~ The money collected from all the bids will be used to pay for everything that night, including the food/stage/items for bidding... so on. So every year it will like that~ In a way everyone can get together and bid for lucky lucky stuff, and enjoy their dinner :) I think its a great event!
