Student Leader Investiture

My face just had to fail me at times like these...

After secondary school graduation, I was unsure of what I wanted in my life, and for the next two years then, I spent idly working part time jobs now and then, traveling here and there to see a piece of the world that I ultimately do not belong to. But during this two years, I have met countless of people from all over the globe. And their point of views about life made me woke up from this delusional slumber that I can never stay a teenager for the rest of my life. Ultimately it will come to the time whereby I would have a family to feed and a ground to settle down. So I decided to enroll into a local polytechnic in hopes of seeking for a future.

When I first entered Poly, I wanted to do my best, to make up for the time I have lost and wasted. I was an overachiever and I did really well in class for the first semester, so I happen to catch the eyes of one of my facilitators who happens to be of a certain ranking in the school hierarchy.

I was nominated to represent the center of innovation and enterprise and served in the council as a programme executive. I remember my time there as one of the three juniors in that particular batch, the 8th council. This bunch of people taught me alot, from organizing events to opening my minds to criticism, it was sort of the pillar of strength i was counting on when things go bad in my classes. (I was not well liked in my class in Year 1 Sem 2)

At last when I stepped down from the 8th council and continued my service as the 9th council's Publication's executive, I felt that my time was well spent in the 8th council, making friends from various other schools and attending privileged events such as the pre-u seminar and the poly forum. I can never thank the Council enough for the best times in my school life, the endless opportunities and the many supportive roles that people in the council played. I can safely assure that, without the council's support and encouragement, I will not be where I am now.

Today, when I went up stage to acknowledge my last moment of being in the council for good, I think about all the good that the council has brought me. Although I gave my entire school life to the council, I never once regretted it. I will never look back and wonder how things would be like either. Because it has brought me nothing, but goodwill.

Thank you so much Republic Polytechnic. Thank you so much for making my life in polytechnic a story to tell.

Oh gee, this this sounds like a graduation speech. Haha oops. Oh, forget the boring talk, PICTURES LAI!
