Off to the beach!

I adopted a 1 year old silky terrier that goes by the name of Silky (Original, I know), back when I was just 17. Its been about 4 years since I have this sweetheart, she just turned 5 on 14th august, and never in my life I have regretted this decision. She was kinda like my everything. She was naughty, cheeky, smart and so full of life. You know the saying whereby a dog year is equillavant to 7 human years. I asked myself, what have I gave silky for the past, 5 years of her life? She's always home, doing her own thing, sleeping, eating. She hardly even went out to enjoy swimming, enjoy hiking, enjoy snow.

Dogs in large countries like America tend to have their own backyard where dogs can dig holes and chase squirrels, lick snow and chase the mail man. But what do dogs in singapore have? Close to nothing if you're staying in a HDB. And some owners don't even bother to give love and care to their own pets. Just adopting them just because they were "cute" while at the puppy stage.

As I was writing this post and I think about all my dog has ever done for me, I can't help feeling emotional and think to myself, why does dogs have to die to early? Why are their lifespan so short? 15 years or lesser, That is even barely even experiencing anything. All my dog did, was to love and trust me, and she's now left with 10 years or less.

I really hope she enjoys her life to the fullest and thus I have decided to pledge bringing her out for "excursions" every month, from swimming at private pools, playing at the beach, to dog runs and gatherings. I really want to look back and tell myself next time, that I have given all I could to this little pooch of mine, and she can leave this world happily. I am really praying hard that she's going to be there at my wedding, walking in front of me on the aisle. (Not sure if she's too scared to do so hahaha)

And my other wish is to actually have silky's babies. Like at least 1 or 2 of them to keep for myself, so that I have a memory of her... Right, this post is getting emotional and getting nowhere.

I'll just head to the main topic.

I brought silky to the beach today. I think it is her first time swimming because she was so afraid of the water. But I slowly hold her until she got used to the water and she started paddling. She hates the waves, but in order to get to our side, she will jump plunge in and swim towards us... (Major cute)

Going to Tanjong Beach! Woohoo!
Long long tongue!

Paddling in the water. Such a smart girl! I feel like a proud parent when she swims! Look out for the next olympic swimmer!!!

I'M GONNA GET YOU FOR THIS

Getting closer <3
Had alot of fun on the sand running around while she chase us. (Good way to slim her down too LOL) Such a pampered princess that even her belly is showing hahahaha

Check out the sand on her face

More running please??

Dahell? No more?

RUN! THE WAVES ARE COMING!
Brought her to take a shower to rinse off all the sand on her fur. And had to rinse myself too. Well obviously she comes with me because we're both females. After she was done, she was kinda fluffy looking!

My cute candy
Had to put her in her carrier because we had to go back. (She was sleeping throughout) Such a sweet girl.

Overall we had so much fun today! The beach was REALLY CLEAN, although some parts of it are under construction. There were other dog owners there enjoying the sand while their pooches jump in and swim. Some are even weekly visitors to the extent that they actually swim out on their own with the owner just sitting by she shoreline. SO CUTEEE. I regret that I did not take much pictures today because I was afraid of getting the camera wet. And I had to stay in the water to lure silky to me LOL. But I am really happy that she is such a talented and cute swimmer! The current and waves were abit on the high side today, poor little baby must have gulped down few mouths of sea water. Its okay, the next time I'm bringing her to a private pool somewhere. Will update soon!
