Picnic with love

Today's the day! I'm a year older and now I have to make more effort to hide my age. Sigh! I hate growing up. All the responsibilities and the uncertainty of the future scares me. On this special day, Sherman came to pick me up and we both went to Marina Barrage to have my long awaited picnic! I love pinics!

Here's the outfit of the day! It may look slightly short on me but its a skort, so its okay!
No signature bowtie for today, but never failed to add a bow on the head instead!

Sherman woke up really early to prepare for all these. So cute!

Happy birthday girl and tired birthday girl's boyfriend. It was a pity it rained slightly before we arrived, so the grass was wet and we decided to just lunch on the marble seats with the cute mat Sherman brought from home. It was a great place to spend time with your loved ones, just sitting by the bay and eating food made with love.

I guess one downside was we went on the day when army guys are having excursions, so there were heaps and heaps of army guys there LOL. Not that its a bad thing, but when you're on a picnic date, its kind strange to be surrounded by MEN right? hahaha. But it was a good experience overall.

Spent the rest of the day shopping at Suntec and had ice cream at ALFERO for desserts. Bought a few pairs of shoes (THEY ARE AWFULLY CUTE). Will wear them out someday, I PROMISEEEE.

Thanks for the nicely planned day and the gifts and surprises! Love youuu :)

So thats how I spent my birthday this year, and I love it!

Food for thought @ DOLCE TOKYO

Had a really impromptu meetup with Princess Lyn on a random Tuesday to grab desserts for our super late high tea. (Supposedly dinner) Decided at Dolce Tokyo because we are Japanese fansssss. Okay la not really...this place serves Italian and Japanese desserts, so its not just solely Japanese... Just really wanted to try out the desserts since its so widely raved!

Dolce Tokyo is at Somerset @ 313. Its quite easy to find as its just right outside Uniqlo. Its kind of an open-concept cafe style where you can sip on tea and watch people shop their money away.

Their signature dessert, the homemade Panna Cotta! Its Italian by the way, and its just a fancy name for the very simplified version "Pudding" I really really like this! Its one of the nicest I've tried. Not too sweet or bland! Even Lyn agrees that its goooood. So its definitely a must try if you're there!

A very nicely laid out snack that consists of fried rice balls with random toppings on top. (No it's not even sushi rice) I wouldn't order this again if I were to come back because its tasteless. I don't even know where to start. But oh well, I have to admit its good for aesthetic purposes.

We ordered another mochi thingy as well but Lyn refuses to take any photos of it because it wasn't as nice looking as the rest LOL. It just looks like a lump of black stuff with white mochi in it. So yeah. but its really tasty too! Meh I love Japanese and Italian desserts! Won't be long before I'm back again! Wait for me!!!!

Before and Afters @ Wild Honey

Had a great dinner at Wild Honey @ Mandarin Gallery with one of my secondary school acquaintance-turned-buddies-after-graduation, Jieming. Its a really pretty place with a musky kind of smell, it actually reminds me of a wooden hut. This is not even the main point.

The thing I want to talk about is that we used a really... sensitive phone camera to take pictures... and it was so bad that It was almost un-publishable so I decided to edit them using photobucket's photo edit function. Although I was new to photo editing, it took me about 10 mins to figure out all the buttons and my take on it would be : ITS FREAKING CONVENIENT AND FANTASTIC!!! Such an amazing application in built into photobucket way to go!!! I've made some edits and placed the before and after photos. Heheheheh!

Mad amazing! Now I know how you can "save" photos! The after photos may still suck, but at least I think that its better than the before. I'm no pro yo. So give me some time to learn ^^v Really happy to have discovered this gem!

Anyway, back to talking about Wild Honey. There is a kind of rustic charm to the place and its really the place to go if you want some good breakfast at anytime of the day. They serve really big portions, and being the heavy eater I am, I couldn't finish my portion. (Maybe its because I had something to eat prior to this engagement) But I suggest that sharing would be a great way to save and not waste food!

Another candle more for her

Happy 19th Princess Lyn!!!
May your med dreams come true!!

Sunday afternoon's brunch was spent in Greenhouse @ Ritz Carlton with the girlies! The birthday girl is in white... fairly gorgeous outfit from UK Topshop. Teehee. This time, there were no absentees!

The variety of food there is insane. They have my favourite smoked salmon... BUFFET STYLE. Some of the highlights of this buffet were the dessert bar as well as the seafood counter. Being typical girls/woman/whateverspecies, we took a champagne glass shot. Its not that difficult to guess which hand belongs to me.

Photos of food mostly taken from their instagrams! You should check them out - they instafood all the time!

Overall experience at the Greenhouse is okay. Food is of top quality and surely the varieties were endless. However, for that price of 160+ SGD per pax for a brunch buffet, it can be quite a pain to an average person's wallet. Not advisable for commoners like me LOL.

So unless you got a few hundred dollars lying around, you can go to another Hotel's brunch buffet for much lesser. But the food here is really good. ^_^ Missing it already.

Proceeded to Ngee Ann City to check out Tiffany & Co's necklaces so that we can plan each other's birthday gifts in advance. (We like hassle-free decisions) Before Jacq has to leave to pack for her Hong Kong trip the next morning. Its gonna be baking, presents and what not the next week we meet. (Y) Thankful for them.

Nevertheless, here's to many future years of friendship!

Law, Med and Boys.

What could be better than spending time with my princesses on a lazy Thursday evening? With all of us unemployed and bumming around all day long since school ended many months ago, the impromptu dinner date was set with the full force except one. As usual, Ned was unable to join us due to her many commitments, but nevertheless it was great seeing Lyn and Jacq again! Monthly affairs are awesome with them!

Lyn's dragon head @ Sushi Tei Ngee Ann City. Speaking of which, they were really surprised when I mention that I dislike Sushi. I really just hate the smell and taste of the vinegar that is used to "wrap" the rice. But I love Japanese pearl rice though! I had the usual udon while they were feasting on sushi.

Lyn and Jacq seem to be flying all the time and because of that we hardly have time for each other! (Except recently, since they are waiting for university in August) And its been... about 2 years since we met each other in Pre University Seminar @ NUS. I'm glad things turned out great between all of us!

Our outfits for the night! Also, want to congratulate Jacq for getting into NUS Law! (I know this is so overdued, but better late than never!!!) Now I know who to look for in my times of need. Wink.
